The Kaplan-Perry Reading Room (LGBT Center: LGBT Building) Capacity: 25

Description

You can plan and submit your reservation requests 90 days in advance. To ensure a smooth process, please submit your reservations at least ten days before your event. Spaces will be allotted based on staff availability. For any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact our Associate Director, Kristal, at kriscas8@upenn.edu.

Located on the 2nd floor, the Kaplan-Perry Reading Room seats 20-25 people at the two round conference tables. This space can accommodate up to 50 people in a classroom style. The Kaplan-Perry Reading Room has an extensive library of books and publications for and about the LGBTQ+ community and one desktop computer. The Library also has a 75" TV screen that functions as a computer, that you can log into and use to display presentations, use the internet, and share sound. 

• LGBT Center Groups, Penn Students & Postdoc Groups, and VPUL Offices:
  • Can reserve all LGBT Center spaces at $0.00 cost. (Please note: all spaces that are left damaged or dirty will be charged a severe fine. The fine will be sent via email directly from the Center’s Director.)  
• Penn Schools, Departments, Offices, Affiliates, Alumni, Staff, and Faculty:  
  • Prior to 5pm: reservation costs will scale from $50/hour 
  • Post 5pm: reservations will scale from $75/hour 
  • Please note that events with alcohol will have an upcharge 
• Penn Student and Postdocs Private Events:  
  • Reservation request will be reviewed by Director and all pricing will be determined on a case-by-case basis
• Penn Faculty and Staff Private Events:  
  • Reservation request will be reviewed by Director and all pricing will be determined on a case-by-case basis 
• Non-Profits [501(C)(3) OR (4)] and For Profits [LLC, Corporations, Partnerships]:  
  • Reservation request will be reviewed by Director and all pricing will be determined on a case-by-case basis 
  • Sliding scale will be offered to Non-Profits upon request 

PLEASE NOTE: All reservations that do not properly clean up spaces upon finalizing their space usage, will incur a fine.
